Jun Szeto @ Faerie

We see a beauty only we have seen
I see it in you, you see it in me

OOC info

  • I, the pilot, am 25 years old and nonbinary. I'd like to roleplay with other adults (at least 21 years old, please).

  • I'm interested in exploring all kinds of roleplay! Typically I have Jun in fairly mundane situations - I am most interested in fleshing out how ordinary life in Eorzea works through RP. But I'm happy to workshop any ideas you might have!

  • Outside of RP, I try to do a bit of everything in-game. Raiding, fishing, dress-up -- I love it all! By far my favorite activity is helping others, though -- so do let me know if I can be of service.

  • I'd love to workshop/schedule RP or talk characters with you! Please send me a tell if you have anything to say about Jun, or if you'd like their "dark magic incantation" (IYKYK). Looking forward to meeting you!

First impressions

Things you could figure out at a glance.

  • Androgynous: They do their best to dress how they like -- neither masculine nor feminine, just what they think is beautiful. How you interpret their performance is, of course, up to you.

  • Vain: Takes great pains to dress for the occasion. Their face is rather plain for Viera standards and it's clear they put a lot of effort into good outward presentation.

  • Polite, almost excessively: Their manners are nigh impeccable, but not in the way someone with a rich upbringing is – every greeting and honorific seems incredibly practiced.

  • Well-read: Often talks about the latest in Eorzean literature, including newspapers, magazines, and lurid fiction. They have little knowledge of academic treatises and other research-based work.

Slightly more in-depth

How they live their life. What you can learn from a few conversations.

  • Career artisan: Jun runs a small crafting studio in Ishgard, where they take custom crafting orders for ornamental items like jewelry and clothing. They honed their skills at their previous job – filling leve orders for basic adventuring gear at the Shaded Bower in Gridania. Recently, they apprenticed as a smith in Tuliyollal, so they can also make sturdy, functional weapons and armor.

  • Enthusiastic home cook: Jun is proficient in most forms of cooking, and specializes in Doman home cuisine. Food is their love language -- if they like you, expect to be fed often.

  • Hobby generalist: Aside from their career as an independent artisan, Jun has various hobbies, which they are happy to enthuse about to anyone willing to listen. Expect them to discuss their favorite fiction novels, gouache painting (they’re just alright at it), basic conjury (they only know two spells) and more!

  • Socially awkward: Jun struggles to connect with others naturally and form genuine bonds. They spend a lot of time and effort reading books, practicing their conversation topics in the mirror at home, and mimicking the behavior of more sociable acquaintances… though they often find that gift giving is a better way of expressing how much they care.

  • Aether deficiency: Jun has always struggled with anything involving aether. They can't use aetherytes, and through brute force has only learned two spells (which they cast poorly and infrequently). Despite this, they still lead a fulfilling life, though they often wish this could change.

Canon outfits

Two versions of Jun's work uniform. They wear one of these when meeting with clients, hosting a trunk show, or doing field research in places where adventurers gather.

A couple of ways Jun might dress up for leisure. Even when off the clock, they make sure to look their best -- after all, they're a tailor, and who'd hire a tailor in a popoto sack? After an exciting camping trip in Dravania, Jun invested in the cape and tunic on the right. If they ever want to become an adventurer, they ought to at least look the part!

rp hooks

A few suggestions for ways to start RP with Jun. If you have ideas for openers that aren't listed here, feel free to send a tell and lab it out with me!

  • Burgeoning small business: Jun can be found with their clothes most Sunday mornings at the Farmer's Attic, a cooperative market with a range of vendors. Their mission is to dress up Eorzeans of all means nicely, and would love to have you as a client!

  • Fiction enthusiast: Jun is a huge fan of Eorzean fiction and loves discussing their favorite series. They would love to enthuse about books to any other avid readers (or even authors), or even give book recommendations!

  • Adventurer admirer: More than anything else, Jun loves hearing stories of far-off lands and wondrous encounters from people who have travelled the star. They have neither the ability nor the fortitude to travel far, so learning about adventure second-hand is their next best option. If your character loves boasting about their adventures, you will not find a more enthusiastic captive audience than Jun!

  • Kits from another litter: Having never left Eorzea, Jun has little first-hand knowledge of tribal Viera history or culture, nor do they have many Vieran friends in the area. They would be delighted to meet more Viera, though they may need some misconceptions corrected.
